I hear you on the last full night of gorging, Ken. I'm making my stroganoff for dinner, one of my all-time faves.
As i said, the other family members will do the wine-handling for me, because I still feel funny around it--but the wine-flavored sauce doesn't faze me at all. No trigger there. Just gustatorial bliss!

I think we are normally 5 hrs ahead in the UK from NYC .. so 19:00 hrs eastern is when i will be speaking to you from the future ..
In the old days you could fly concord and get there before you'd left here and have the sun rise in the west if it flew at the right time … i wonder if they ever did a double new years eve flight ? …. off for a inter web search ..
Bestwishes, m

Well my legs are like jelly tonight,in a good way from exercise though not in the way where I've staggered home falling into bushes.Got the ddp yoga extreme and it's HARD!!But it was nice to try the splits the first time ever whilst thinking this time last year I was on crutches, and on crutches for 3 of the last 5 months!
Tucked up now and ready for 2014 and I'm going to make things happen this year.Hope everyone is doing ok and if you fall, get up and keep fighting.happy new year :-)

Shouting out from 2014 to all of you who are heading to or going through New Year's Eve. I just did a first in many years: woke at 6.15am on New Year's Day, was entirely hangover free so went for a swim in a rock pool -- the water was 21C. Bliss!
OK, My NYE Party kicks off in about an hour. I'll be surrounded by drinkers and triggers, but I'll be thinking of you guys here at SR. It's reassuring to know I have people in my corner tonight.
Lots of good food and 24 diet ginger ales on ice!
(ring,ring!)

Well, being on the west coast of the US, I guess my New Year won't start until long after the lot of you!
I am not usually one to go out on New Years Eve, but I bought tickets to the symphony because they are doing one of my favorites....."Rhapsody in Blue". Going with a couple of friends, we will be skipping the after party and I hope to be home before the clock strikes midnight.
I wish everyone the happiest of evenings!
See you next year!!!!!

Three hours till midnight. My peeps are playing pinochle and video games. I probably should have gone up for a nap, but instead I'm sitting here scanning threads. i have discovered that this is a pretty slow night! I feel kind of pathetic.
Hi guys, I have had a tough go of it lately. I keep slipping and going back and forth. I want 2014 to be a sober year. I had a good chunk of sobriety in 2013, and I intend to do better. I am deep into a bottle of sparkling cider tonight and am cooking a nice dinner for my husband and daughter. I definitely want to do some journal writing tonight to look back at where I've been and set some clear goals for the future. I'm so glad to be here tonight!
