Down the drain

does pouring a bottle of vodka down the drain in the morning and buying a new bottle after work qualify for insanity?

Yep -- alcoholism does that. Sounds like a person with a thought of suicide playing Russian roulette. Why do you keep buying them?

Been there and got that T-Shirt!!

But you don't need to drink that bottle either, you can pour it out, nothing can force you to drink it!!

Maybe not insanity but sure sounds like you are sitting on the fence about sobriety?

I did that several times this year before quitting (hopefully for good!).

Done it too. Poured a few away too. I have never even dared to add up the money I have wasted. If I had put as much craft into a business as I did in ducking and diving during my drinking career, I would likely be very rich by now.

so familiar. I remember pouring out a half-finishrd bottle and going to bed, pissed and angry to be drunk again, only to get up a few hrs later and go out for more--yuck! such a twisted cycle, but it can be broken. It starts with a decision.
