Hi

Hey, I'm new here.

I was addicted to over the counter codeine containing painkillers (I live in the UK where they are available over the counter mixed in with ibuprofen and paracetamol, sometimes caffeine is in the mix too).

I began a subutex program in November which has saved me serious physical health damage. I am on 8mg subutex once a day.

So hi all, my journey is not over yet but at least my stomach, liver and kidneys are not being destroyed anymore in the quest for that codeine buzz.

I was using over FIFTY of these pills a day. The rate of people addicted to them in the UK is a timebomb which has not gone off yet! Thousands of us are addicted over here, I am quite young to be hit by this addiction, I was 25 when I began abusing these medications. Not even a fraction of addicts are in treatment, and many people addicted sadly die from overdoses of ibuprofen or paracetamol (tylenol etc in the US), or become seriously ill with stomach, liver and kidney disorders bought on by abuse of the added drugs, added ironically, to prevent abuse!.

Hello!

Welcome to SR StingyBee

Yeah the damage that abuse of NSAIDS and paracetamol can do often slips under the radar. Glad you're doing well.
