Hi Rob and welcome. We are never too old or young to stop drinking, there is now, at one of my meetings a man who is 95 and has been sober for 2-3 years now. Some of us have trouble stopping and others seem to sail along better. The bottom line is being honest about our drinking with ourselves and not picking up the first drink. It's worked for millions so keep coming.
BE WELL
BE WELL
Hi Rob. Welcome to SR - it's a great place to be
I stopped drinking at 52 and now have 11 months sobriety today. Yay!
I feel very happy, much calmer and FREE! I wish I had done it long ago, but, hey, I wasn't ready then. Now that I have, I can tell you it's a wonderful feeling and I am appreciating every minute.
I'm rooting for you and hoping that you feel the same way very soon

Welcome Rob! I can relate to your feeling of wasting too much time on alcohol. You will be amazed at how much more time you have as you travel this sober path. It is so lovely. I hope to see more of you in the days to come!
