Made it home. Yay!

I'm gonna need you this week SR. Hosting a NYE party.

I'm sticking close to SR this week too. I've been having some close calls with my AV. So far I've managed to distract myself and reading here helps me to remember that it's the addiction, not reality. Glad so many others are staying close by too!

Flying4Life, ya made me think. In my 3 1/2 years sober, I have experienced exactly the same feelings as your last sentence describes more than once, however the less problems the better off I am, and times were worse with the booze and dope. At first having the full range of emotions again was annoying to say the least about it, but I'm finally beginning to appreciate living a normal life. Rootin for ya.

Had a quiet day today. Very cold here. Thoughts of hibernation. Pretty much spent all day with my new pup. Life is good today.

Django, FnL, I find that shame is a real sobriety killer. At the same time, slips have to be taken seriously. I like to think of it as a scientist learning something from a failed experiment.

Flying, when the walls close in around me and I get in my own head, I find that I have to reach out to people. I like to volunteer because it makes me grateful and gives me new purpose. Also, engaging people in conversation and really listening helps me get out of my own head. I do get so tired of that internal dialogue! ;-)

Yours,
Cas

You really should post a picture of your new pup......you could end the weekend with an 'awwww' moment.

Some great support and advice this week. I like the furniture changes patman.

Snow to deal with again this morning. They say we had the 12 snowiest December on record. Kinda figures since I just moved back. Oh well. I don't mind it.

I will be starting a New Years weekender thread tomorrow morning early so hope you will join in!

Ken
