Hmmm... Bah! Humbug!
The fact is it's not always merry. This will be my second holiday sober. The first was thanksgiving. Now the big one. I am traveling to New York to see loved ones and former loved ones. (Don't ask)
I don't want to be alone. That simple.
How about we have a check in weekend kinda thread. A selfish sort I am as I need it.

Alrighty, I'm in, this will be the Middle of the week weekend threat.

Sweet i can join in on this one :-) Didn't have the best of times lately but 3rd day back on the right track and happy to be heading into Christmas and new year sober for the first time.
Have a great holiday everyone and i look forward to using this site in 2014 sober and hopefully on the right track to getting my life going again :-)

Hi Weasel! Thanks for starting us off. I'm in. I work today but have shortened hours and can leave early. Gives me some time to pick up one last thing for my niece and wrap presents for my kids. Ooo. Forgot that I need to buy tape.
I am the only one up. Sitting in the dark right now because my mother in law is sleeping on my couch. Sub zero outside so I can't do my usual sitting on the back porch in the a.m.

Gifts I gave myself this year!
Just booked an hour and a half massage for Friday.
I hired a personal trainer and I scheduled my first visit for Friday morning. It's obvious I will need the massage after. I have not exercised in years. Literally.

BIG family gathering today; our first since losing my Uncle to cancer. This will be a tough night but like going through the "firsts" in sobriety, I think it will be healing for our family to go through this event this evening. My mother makes the traditional lobster newburg and I am the official one that gets to stir....I have a massage scheduled for later in the afternoon before the party so I will focus on that....I don't even like lobster! My brother and his family will blow in tonight as well.....we do not get along but being sober ironically does make it easier. Stay strong people! I will be thinking of you all!
