Hello again all, I just wanted to update my thread and say "I am still sober today" and want to thank you all very much for the support\honesty\advice\experiences.
Today we are sober and that is all that matters

Time to redefine normal
"Im still in recovery and will never be normal I know this."
Nonsense! Crazy talk! You don't find that you are perfectly normal now in your natural state? Would you give an eight year old kid a can of beer? Why not? Are they not normal until they can drink? Or is that kid perfectly natural and you would not dare poison their body (and mind)?
Is it more normal to systematically destroy oneself by ingesting a powerful, addictive poison while lining the pockets of greedy corporate multinationals, soulless bar owners and our glorious leaders in government? How society has warped our thinking...
If you are trying to class so-called "normal drinkers" as normal, I would implore you to take another look and make another assessment. The reality is the majority of people who are out there actively drinking are problem drinkers/alcoholics. Maybe it is a question of degree, but all I see is alcohol causing problems to the majority (lateness, loss of productivity the next day, arguments in relationships, money worries, weight problems, loss of motivation, fights, stds, unwanted pregnancies, drink driving, loss of memory, stupidness, accidents, the list is endless...)
Probably in your town, a lot of drunks have seen you pass by and thought to themselves in their drunken stupor, "I wish I was normal like him".

Great post, Sacamedeagui (also, on an unrelated note, how do you remember how to spell your username every time you sign in?)
If regularly consuming a poison is "normal", then count me as abnormal please!
