Ring ring, I am in on this rainy Sunday morning. I have a potentially painful work meeting this morning and I really do not want to attend but hey, I should be grateful I have a job in this economy.
My AV is really very quiet. Yesterday while waiting for the bus I noticed a huge sign advertising the brand of beer I drank for 89 cents for 24 ozs. I looked and said loudly, "Don't even go there I don't drink". AV did not even have a chance to say peep, good thing too I was alone at the bus stop or people would have thought I was a crazy person yelling at herself LOL.
With the holidays and all, I made sure I was prepared with as many tools as possible in my tool belt and I have been re reading Rational Recovery (I might use it to quit smoking btw). The big trick is to differentiate between you and it (the AV). Once it is separated from our identity, it loses its power and it easier to call it on its nonsense firmly and go on with our day.

Day 5 today. I feel surprisingly content. Especially considering two nights ago, I was still in shambles and wishing alcohol didn't even exist.

Hey Nonsensical, I totally relate to your AV acting up in that situation. Whenever I get out of my normal enviornment, it starts telling me, "no one will know, you'll be fine, get back to being sober when you get home." Sorry, AV,we're one step ahead of you. Thanks for sharing.

Ring ring, meeting was short and painless, I think I am going to reward myself by going to Mc Donald's. I rarely eat junk food but I don't feel like cooking

Getting into a work mindset since I return tomorrow after ten days off. Doing laundry. Or thinking about doing laundry as I type on here. Baked some of the caramel walnut cookies today. Not impressed with them for the amount of work entailed to make them. Went from cookies to roasting an enormous pork butt/shoulder roast (butt sounds so bad). The house smelled like cookies but now my eyes are watering from the amount of onions the roast called for. Two. In a covered roasting pan, in the oven and my eyes are bugging me. Son taking a break from us and playing at grandma and grandpas at the moment. Daughter wrapping an endless number of little trinkets from her bedroom as Christmas presents. "Don't look mommy!"

And now, I wil go fold laundry. Yuck weather so no incentive to go outside.

You should watch tv inside, next to a big fireplace. So much better.

Wow, what a tough freakin day!!
It was going just fine... then BOOM!
Around 5 o'clock my AV kicked in hard, it was a last ditch attempt to get me to drink, I put on my jacket and COMPROMISED (wtf???) with the beast to only buy beer (usually drink vodka). Anyway, about halfway to the shop I stopped in the street, said the F word quite loudly, then turned back to my house. Toooooo freakin close!!!
Well that's it... shops are shut, window of opportunity has now gone and next week is being spent with family who I won't drink around.

Big pat on the back for all those who made it through!!! we did it!

Good job, Twinings! To pull back, already to give in, already in the car, that's intense. But what a way to stick it to the AV-I bet it (the AV) thought it has won-nope. Great success.

Good Morning Sobrietists!

At my destination and feeling good. Less AV on Sunday than on Saturday. No idea why he jumped out at me on Saturday. Weird.

Well, I hope everyone has a Fantastic Sober Week!

And Way To Go Twinings for pulling out of the tailspin! Well done!
