I just won a bottle of champagne

Its awful to win this kind of prize. I feel terrible. Its in the box sitting on the floor. Someone offered me 1/4 of the price. Shall I quickly sell it?

You didn't pay for it, so you won't be out any money. Give it away.

1/4 more than I would have gotten. I would have to dump it.

I think I will sell this for 1/4 of the price and buy myself lots of coffee to cheer myself up.

I would either dump it immediately or give it away now.

For an alcoholic it's a gift of poison. A gift
in disguise to destroy and cause more
harm than good.

Giving it away with nothing in return
is more of a personal gift to oneself than
you you can ever imagine.

I would never give alco as a gift. I'm too jealous. In addition I got boozy pudding which I have already swapped with coffee vouchers.

If you feel that selling it won't be a trigger in itself, sell it. I say this in case whatever mechanism for sale you use would involve exposure to some stimuli that could give you cravings to drink.

sell it, give it...whatever...pass it on to someone who drinks responsibly.

I've had this happen, when wine comes as a gift...gotta quickly pay that one forward!

When I won a bottle I actully passed it on before I even got it home, whew!

Its still on the floor near my chair. I need to get rid of it quickly. Awful feeling.

Leave it outside for a homeless person to have as an early Christmas present?

As they say in AA: pass it on (quick)

Congrats on winning something. There must be someone around there who would thank you for it and you might just brighten up their day. It will be your good deed for the day!

My uncle gave me a $25 gift certificate to the local liquor store. He forgot I don't drink any more.

Good job, Healthy!

Man, Ballin, that sucks! Re-gift ASAP, eh?

A few years back, we moved into a new apartment. One of the reasons was to get a "fresh start" and work on not drinking. Three people gave us bottles of wine as house warming gifts! Needless to say, we drank them in one night and just kept on going.
