Just said NO to xmas invite.

Not sure if i'm a saddo or sensible but didn't want to be away from SR, especially as it's going to be my first sober xmas.
No way could I tell anyone that I am not going to their house as I want to be on the internet :lmao

Hello Sky
You don't have to miss celebrating Christmas w/ family/friends coz your in recovery. Take someone w/ you from aa/na if think you might fall off wagon. Twill make interesting conversation & you won't feel alone! Just a thought

My family are all in Ireland and Scotland - it wasn't a family invite :) I'll be fine - can watch what I want on tv etc - am actually looking forward to the peace and quiet ;)
Thanks for the suggestion though :) Xx

I spent my first Christmas at home - it was very peaceful. I enjoyed it a lot :)

I'll be stopping by a few family members, then off home to watch xmas TV :)

Same as Purple Knight. I make a few visits (having lunch out) but so like to get back to the cosiness of home and watch some funny TV and have lots of nibbles :) XXX

Well I say good for you Skye. Personally I stay from anything where there is lots of drinking and partying going on. If I do go somewhere I always make sure I have a back up plan to get out of there if I need to.

Christmas to me is just spending extra time with my grandskids :D. I'll take that over the social events anytime!

Hi Skye, i think it's good that you are making sobriety your priority. I spent the morning with family last year before any of them started drinking and then did my own thing for the rest of the day. I had a pleasant and peaceful Christmas. :)

I will also probably be home alone. My best friend has his son and a few friends staying and he has been on a drinking binge for the past couple of weeks. I am actually feeling secure with my sobriety (more worried about sadness/depression) but I have a few meetings I could go to if I have a problem and of course, I am planning to be on SR
