Day 8 and going strong
 

Hey all, just checking in here! It's day 8 for me and I feel so much better already. The physical detox is gone and so is the depression and anxiety thank god. I have faced a lot of challenges this week and I'm glad I was able to make it through them without caving. Thanks for all of your support, it was truly helpful. I know I have a long road to go and that little voice that says "you feel better now, you can drink again, maybe you were just overreacting, maybe you don't have a problem," keeps announcing itself from time to time, but I know rationally that the voice is wrong. I know I am up against a formidable foe, but for today at least, I can say I'm feeling well.

Ignore the voice mate - you don't want to have to go through the 'first week' again now, do you ;)

Definitely not bro, that was hell!!!!! I've only really been sober for more than a day or 2 since I started drinking 16 years ago and that was this November .. Can't believe I put myself through that detox again! Won't happen again !!
