Hello
I am AllenT, I am a male, 58 yo and divorced. I was looking for some online support to supplement my f2f meetings. Our local chapter is not that large nor that intense and I was hoping to share some experience, strength and hope from the members here. I have nearly six months sober and is a struggle, seems everything that could go wrong has so. I suppose I reap the sowings of my past.

Hey Allen, welcome to SR 
Congrats on 6 months! Unfortunately when we look back on our actions and see how much hurt and destruction we caused, it really breaks our hearts. For a brief time after I quit pills I thought was I was the biggest monster, incapable of healing, out of reach of all help.
But then I decided to forgive myself and let the past go. It makes for a new beginning. Perhaps thinking of doing something similar for yourself would help. Forgive yourself for what has happened. Focus on what you can change for the future. You already are, after all, otherwise you wouldn't be here.
There is lots of support to be found here.

This type of forum is all quite new to me. i hope I am responding apprpriately. It is so hard to forgive yourself when your shortcomings are in your face each and everyday
