Day 20

Well into day 20. Feeling pretty good, not 100% sure what "normal" feels like but feeling good and getting better. Tomorrow is 3 weeks

Awesome job Bill. Keep coming back. I am at day 46 and also not sure what normal feels like! I am gratefully sober though and going to AA. I surrendered this time and I am doing what is suggested and working a recovery program. I just cant be dry alone. Glad you are here!

Well done! I'm a little behind you at 9 days ;-)

Yeah I know what your mean a bout normal. Feeling good but after 20 years of this non-sense I don't have an emotional baseline to compare to.

Congrats Bill. :)

Giving up drink doesn't stop bad things happening. Life can still be tough for a non drinker. You just deal with it better and you get the benefit of enjoying all the good things fully.

I hear you about questioning, "normal," Bill. I'm right there with you. But, it's damn better than hungover and all that comes with it, eh? Congrats on 20 days. Onward!

Thanks All... finding the day by day challenge one that this time I am planning to tackle. Admitting this all to myself has been a major change this time. Have hope with that self awareness and support this will stick. Reading posts from others that have gone thru this and are months or more sober gives me confidence it can be beat. Trying to stay positive, but cant say that the temptation is gone, it isn't but in the past I would have justified having 'just a few' and we all know how that goes. Again...thanks all. Tomorrow is 21 / 3 weeks...
