new to this

I never thought I had problems with alcohol until Saturday. I had been drinking since Thursday to deal with my problems. I don't remember a sober moment within those days. Saturday night I lost my temper and picked a fight with a friend of a friend. everyone was, and still is disappointed in me, including myself. I realized yesterday that i had been slowly sabotaging my relationships with my friends and loved ones. I want to quit drinking. I want to repair what I have broken. I believe I am a good person when I am sober, but I haven't been sober in two years.

to SR.
Quitting is a great decision. Look around the forum at the different options for recovery, find something which attracts you and stick to it (I go to AA personally). I would also encourage you to join the class of December where you will be with others who quit at the same time and can help and support each others.
I hope you will join us at the 24 hours club where we commit not to drink or drug for the next 24 hours. Before you know it, those days do pile up http://www.soberrecovery.com/forums/...ml#post4350175

I had similar results when I turned to alcohol to deal with my problems. The original problems were still there and I had created some new ones, too.

Welcome to SR. Are you willing to give up the bottle in order to fix all these problems?

Welcome I hope you will get inspired as much as me by people on here. It is said often enough but it is true that your problems will still be there when your hangover has gone. Can you be more positive about trying to deal with your problems rather than trying to forget them? I hope you continue to post and wish you all the best.
