Priceless advice

Once upon a time:

A wise man once stood before an audience and told a joke and everyone laughed
after a while he told the same joke
and almost nobody laughed,
counted the same joke over and over again until no one laughed ...
and said:

if you can not laugh several times on one thing,
WHY you cry for the same thing over and over again ....?

PRICELESS

Aiko, Welcome back! How goes the journey girl? Are you sober now?

I am not sure I understand your post. Could you explain?

I could have it wrong, but it sounds like a lesson on living for today, rather than regretting the past. Sage advice I would say. Welcome back Aiko.

Hi Aiko and welcome back from your journey.

My take is this..

When something (in this instance a joke) is enjoyable we can laugh at it once and move on (diminishing returns). Why don't we do the same thing with unpleasant thoughts, those we get stuck on and don't wish to let go of.

Most of us do not spend time obsessing over the good things in our lives over and over, but a lot of us obsess about the bad stuff in our lives over and over.

Good Evening

Jaynie explained it perfectly...
I translated it the best I could hope it makes sense.

If we learn to deal with our ghosts
we will be able to handle addictions better...

Hope this will help others...
to stop crying over and over the same thing.
the destructive and fruitless behaviour!!!

Umm, err, how are you doing with these words of wisdom? Are you sober now or are you just stopping by to tell people to stop crying over spilled milk?

Btw to me the ghost is the addiction.

I think we all process things differently and we can only focus on ourselves and help by sharing what works for us.
