Hi there,
I am totally new to this. and new to forums as well. I have been sober for 26 days. xmas and new year are just around the corner with all the challenges that presents! Would be good to chat with others who are recovering. i dont really feel ready to go to "group" sessions like AA, so thought id start online and see how it goes.

wow, that was a quick reply, thanks. so nice to hear words of encouragement. 
if you feel comfortable, feel free to share anything about your journey. I went to psych ward for a week to get off the alcohol and also because i have depression and anxiety. i'm just trying to take each day as it comes I guess. feels like a loooong roadahead. but hopefully one that will reap its own rewards. fingers crossed. have you found groups/forums/individual counselling useful?
