Thus Sucks
Sorry about the title I didn't realize how that sounded
So I am 30 and have been a daily heavy drinker for 9 years or so with less then a week straight of not drinking.. This last Thursday morning I decided enough was enough and haven't had a drop since then.
Since about 2 hours of stopping it has been like my body thought I was betraying it and started going haywire. Along with some minor other symptoms my anxiety and insomnia are the absolute worst.. I have gotten about 2 hours of sleep in going on 4 days..
Anyone have any advice for a newcomer to the light side?

Welcome to Sober Recovery!
Yes, start a new thread for your first post. It gets a lot more attention than introducing yourself in an old post. Maybe one of the forum moderators will move your post to a new thread (and rename it!)
As for your insomnia - it's very common among the newly sober. So much so that SR has a whole forum dedicated to it.
Insomnia/Nightmares - SoberRecovery : Alcoholism Drug Addiction Help and Information
Check that out if you haven't already. Lots of good advice in there. Hopefully some of those tips/strategies will work for you.
Good Luck!

Welcome dreamer,
Insomnia and anxiety are very common, I find that the most uncomfortable part of withdrawal...your body has been suppressed by the alcohol and now it needs to readjust. It'll pass with time and then the sober awesome feeling will kick in
