So, I am not a very religious person, but when I was struggling earlier this year I bought a prayer book on a whim. I just recently dug it out and today realized the bookmark was on June 13th, meaning I haven't opened it since then. I was having one of those back and forth moments earlier tonight about being sober so I skipped through June, July, August, September, October and November!! (ALL those months!!) to today's date.

This is what it read:

"But ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind." -James 1:6

It continued with:

"God by whom the meek are guided in judgement, and light riseth up in the darkness for the godly; grant us, in all our doubts and uncertainties, the grace to ask what thou wouldst have us do; that the Sprit of Wisdom may save us from false choices and that in thy light we may see light, and in thy straight path may not stumble."

I found it comforting but also a little unnerving that i would see those words on a day I was dealing with my own doubt. It was fitting, so I figured I'd post it in case others were also having doubts and it may help them like it did me. I'm off to bed... sober. :-)
