going to detox in the mrning and I have some questions
I'm going to keep this short because I'm going to bed soon. I have been trying to get off booze for the last month, trying to taper down and not having much luck. Yesterday I called an ambulance and went to the emergency room. they got me into detox and gave me some valium until I get in. I was taking 10 mg every 3 hours yesterday because the withdrawals were so bad. today has been a bit better I only had to take it twice. but I'm worried about taking the full 10 mg before I go to bed, I'm also worried that if I dont take it I will go through withdrawals in my sleep. any advice is much appreciated. thanks. also I'm shaking pretty bad right now so I'm kind of leaning towards taking it, maybe setting an alarm clock every couple hours to see how I'm doing

We cannot give medical advice here, so all I can say is take the medicine as prescribed. If the bottle says take every x hours, then follow the directions. Alcohol withdrawal is nothing to mess around with.
Good luck in detox!
Good luck in detox!
Hope one of these numbers is relevant to you Julius.
Toll-free hotlines
Not sure where – or even if – you should seek immediate treatment? Most provinces have a 24-hour number you can call to ask a registered nurse any non-urgent health questions. They offer advice and can direct you to the appropriate help, including the location of the nearest emergency department, urgent care clinic, after-hours or walk-in clinic. Several of these hotlines have corresponding websites with symptom sorters, information on common health problems and alerts, and general health tips.

yah I have, I just get paranoid because I have never done valium before, but the dr was pretty adamant that I take it untill I get into detox though because I was in pretty rough shape in the emergency room. it just scares me to think I might be going through alcohol withdrawals and benzo withdrawals in detox . but I have not drank since yesterday morning. In retrospect I know this isnt the place t be asking this sort of thing I'm just super anxious right now

thanks that is actually really helpful, I'm sure the right thing to do would be just to take it as directed it says every 3 hours so I guess I'm just going to have to set alarm clocks throught the night.well thanks for your help I think I'm going to call the nurse hotline

I understand you're anxious. The unknown of detox can be a scary thing. Just take the medicine as prescribed. If your doctor is adamant about you taking it, then you follow the directions.
It is extremely unlikely you will be detoxing from valium from only taking it for a couple of days. And you will soon be in a safe place with professional doctors and nurses who are trained to see you through this.
