Hello my names pete iv just turned 24. Iv been addctive to weed for 9 years now. I have a good life and a well paid Job. But I find myself sad now. I'm not getting younger I find myself thinking what I could have done with that money to better my life. We're is my life going if I keep carrying on like this? I lake the will power and self confidence to brake this addiction. Iv never seeked advice before I hope u can help. Cheers pete

I found the power and confidence to quit by spending a lot of time on this website and going to Narcotics Anonymous meetings. It's true that if you want your life to go somewhere, you better start working on it now.

Welcome to SR!! I am mostly an alcoholic but was a pot user for years. It's always better to speak to your doctor but from my personal experience quitting weed is not dangerous. You will vivid dream and night sweat.

Then it's the psychological aspect. Movies will seem boring at first but you will learn how to live happy.

The good news is it's possible to quit weed. I smoked it daily for nearly 30 years.

There's two things you need to do tho - the first is to find support, and you'll find plenty of that here.

The second is to make changes in your life. If you smoked to relax yopu're goinna need to find new ways to relax. If you smoked with mates you might have to cut yourself out of the circle for a bit...

It wasn't pleasant giving up weed but it wasn't impossible either - I had a worse time giving up the booze.
If you want to leave weed behind, you definitely can :)
