welcome shane
Finding this site is a great first step, there are lots of supportive people here that know what it is you are going through.
Read through all the forums, ask ,post, check in often
My first day here someone mentioned Rational Recovery and AVRT, I googled the terms went to their website and took their free crash course. I found it tremendously helpful , especially in the early going.
wish you well and hope to see you around

Hello and welcome. You'll find lots of support here from people who have successfuly quit, and those still struggling.
What works for me, and I was a bad drunk, is to remember how I felt after drinking. The following day, the fear anxiety and remorse. And those terrible hangovers.
I could never have just one or two. It was all or nothing for me.
It took me a long time to quit. But, I drank like an alcoholic since the first time I picked it up at fourteen. So I had to learn how not to drink. Support groups help many, maybe you should give one a try.
Best to you and keep on posting.

Good luck on day 2. Stay focused on what you want to achieve. I would also recommend googling AVRT and do their short crash course ,it is certainly helping me. Also remember it is so much easier to handle stress without a hangover!! Keep up the good work
