frustrated father

I am the father of a 24 heroin addict. He recently, within the past couple days was released from jail for violating home confinement. Yesterday, he & I got into an argument which progressed into a physical altercation. I was the aggressor. There were no punches thrown. It was limited to him wrestling me to the couch in self defense. I have been dealing with his aggressive verbal behavior for 6 years now & finally went over the edge. He called the police after he broke free & as a result, I was arrested for domestic battery because my mother's arm was scraped on the couch trying to break us apart. Has any parent ever ended up in this situation?

good morning bassman,

I have not been in that situation but I am in recovery and my son is out in active addiction. He is going to be 25 next month. Are you in recovery or are you a Normy? (which is a term for people that can control their usage)
