I was not able to go to the gym today. I didn't feel well and decided to take a nap instead but I still consider that taking care of myself. I've done well with food and water and will take my vitamins tonight.

Went to class! Hadn't been in 6 months!! I really really felt weaker and it really bummed me out. But, I have six months until the next recital so I'm going to work really hard.

Ate tons of vegetables today.

Chia pudding
Brown rice with cauliflower and beets again
Chicken broth with mushrooms and green beans
Lentils with potatoes and turkey
A sweet potato and brussels sprouts with 2 soft boiled eggs

I guess that's healthy right?

Must do cardio tomorrow!!!

I used to do pole dancing. It was the best workout ever. I felt really strong and flexible and it just made my life better. So I'm trying to pick that up again.

I'm in especially since we are now talking about crowning a winner

Fitness goals:
Maintain weight while adding 5-7 pounds lean muscle mass
Continue running 4X/week I alternate 3 and 7 miles
+ yoga or Pilates on remaining 3 days

For anyone who hasn't tried myfitnesspal it is amazing. It makes loosing weight fool proof and keeps you honest. It gives you graphs, projected weightloss potentials as well as a breakdown of your nutritional intake including essential vitamins and there is a activity log. NO I DON'T WORK FOR THEM .

Good luck everyone!!!

I'm in!! The last couple of weeks have knocked me off my routine a bit. I am mostly a yoga/walker kind of a gal. I drink green protein smoothies every morning and I have cut out red meat and diet sodas. Those small changes (on top of quitting drinking) have gotten me back to my ideal weight.

Great idea. I have been going to the gym 4-5 times per week and trying to eat healthier already, but it's a great idea to have a thread on this to keep me accountable!

Today's plan is a 3.5 mile run after work. Yesterday's workout was derailed from a long work day and then kid evening activities and Christmas decorating. Nutrition-wise, I had my favorite weekday breakfast: sprouted grain english muffin, toasted with 1 egg, scrambled with spinach and jarlsberg on top and a clementine. Lunch will be homemade chicken and veggie noodle soup and an orange and dinner is spaghetti with homemade marinara (made it with our garden tomatoes and froze it in August) and a salad with vinaigrette. Copious amounts of tea and a dessert will be thrown in somewhere. :-) Have a healthy day, everyone!

First 5km run of the week done. Made my same old mistake of trying to go out a little bit faster and going out too fast. Last 2km was a real test when it should have been a nice training run!

Good Morning Buddies!

Does anybody use Daily Mile? It's kinda like a "Facebook" where you post your workouts and see your friend's workouts in your timeline.

I'm hoping to get to the gym soon. My new sneakers SHOULD arrive today, which will give me the incentive to get back out there and get some good distances/workouts in.

Does anybody have a great recipe for any sort of vegetarian soup? Preferably with lentils or beans (for protein). I am researching Harira (sp?) a Moroccan soup that is delicious... hoping to find an authentic recipe.

Have a great day all!

Slept in way too late

But I'm going to start my day with oatmeal with almond milk, bananas and persimmon

I'm planning on 1/2 hour on the elliptical and some core vinyasa flow.

I'll have a pretty sedentary day otherwise I'll be in the studio.

Hi All,

Checking in...today is my dual gym day, meaning I typically go twice to the gym for about 40 minutes each time. Going to make the first visit, but won't be able to go the second time due to having to pick up a Christmas gift after work that. Oh well...40 minutes is still better than nothing:-)

Dolly why do you go twice in the same day? Do you do strength in one session and cardio in the second?

A 6.2 km run today and a quick winter bath, well not quite cold enough to be called winter bath yet.
