I use to smoke cannabis but it has been a year since - it used to overwhelm me with anxiety. I can imagine thanksgiving would be a hard time for many people. I started taking oxy's in July after a back injury and just started to need more and more and have tried 3 times to stop - unsuccessfully. My max dose I reached was 120mg per day but it is still giving me horrible withdrawal symptoms and I don't know how I will function in the coming weeks - especially during the upcoming festive season
Feeling pretty horrendous this afternoon - teary and desperate after picking kids up from school - who are none the wiser. Mummy on the other hand can't move off the lounge as the dishes and housework like up

The first few days of withdrawal off anything are always rough - kinda like a vague flu...but our emotions can be upset too.
The only tips are I can give you are common sense ones I've picked up over the years here - stay hydrated (gatorade is good), try to eat well... if the pain is bothering you, use something like advil responsibly, as directed....take hot showers, get some rest.
Above all don't hesitate to see your Dr if you feel really unwell.

Welcome aboard, Sam. My first bit of advice to anyone facing addiction would be to check out SR, so as far as I can tell you're already doing everything perfect. I guess my only other suggestion would be to forget the dishes and housework. If that lounge is helping you through this, then staying on it is the most important thing you can do for yourself, and your kids.
Like I said, seems like you're doing everything perfect. You're going to be really proud of yourself, and grateful too.

Hi and welcome to SR. Glad you found us.
Take it easy for the first few days...keep telling yourself that it does get easier because it's true.
You kids will soon get their Mum back, and that is a great feeling x
