Getting worried

Is there anybody in the same boat as me? I seem to be drinking more and more. We have a sort of rule at home where we have 3 nights of alcohol free days. Sometimes I cope then o a Monday after a drinking weekend I just open another bottle! He doesn't drink but it's 1-2 bottles for me then sometimes a vodka in my chamomile tea. I never seem to feel drunk but just pass out at bedtime. Help please

Been there, got the t-shirt!!

If there was alcohol in the house, I would drink it, no matter what good intentions I had, as Skye mentioned, are you looking to quit?

Welcome to the Forum!!

I was in the same boat. For me quitting completely was the only way out. It will get worse for you, the only question is how bad and how soon.

Welcome bubblesd. Glad you reached out for some support.

I definitely relate. I started out enjoying just a few drinks on weekends. In the end it was all day, every day. Over the years my tolerance grew - and I became completely dependent on it. I'm happy you're taking a serious look at what alcohol is doing to your life. It's good to have you with us.

It's not a foregone conclusion Joey, you have to make the decision on either drinking it or not, there is still no shame in buying and putting it in a cupboard, you can still be in control of what happens next!!

I relate as well. If there was hooch around, I'd finish it. I knew things had gone too far when I found myself digging through the trash one night, hoping that I could find a bottle with some left. This is a great place for support and insight. Welcome.

While I realize your post is serious, I find the idea of chamomile tea with vodka, funny.

It reminds me a time when in my early drinking days that I met a girl who wanted me to learn to relax without alcohol. I wanted to go buy beer, and she said "No. You don't need beer. I'm going to teach you to meditate." I agreed, but said I had to go to the bathroom first... popped a valium while in there, and her guided meditation worked wonderfully.

As for anyone being in the same boat at you, I'd say pretty much all of us have been. Most of us are now on the other side of that and sober for a while. It's a much much better life on this side of the fence. Trust me when I tell you that. Pretty sure most, if not all here will agree.

Hi and welcome bubbles

yeah I started as a weekend binge drinker - gradually included all of sunday- then monday - then I started drinking again on Thursday for the weekend...

I ended up an all day everyday drinker.

There's a lot of support and advice here - I'm glad you've found us.

it all starts with a day one
D

One we reach that line of needing it. Then we are in trouble. Stressing about it is an indicator of addiction in my 50 cent opinion.

Bless you
