I never thought I could make it either. And I was a bad drunk for thirty years. It took a power greater than myself to lift me out of my drunkeness. Have you considered an AA meeting?
You'll find people there who have been through the same thing you're going through and they're all there for the same reason: to get sober.
It took me many attempts to quit. And many failures. Please don't put yourself through the misery I went through. I wouldn't wish it on anyone.
Just don't pick up that first drink, and I promise you won't get drunk.
