first post

Hi everyone, I just wanted to make my first post. I am a opiate addict, and am trying to get on track to quit. I get clean for a while and then always go back. I really want to change my life and live without this burden. I have stopped for 7 days with one night of relapse, but am back clean. I just want to stay. I know I should go to meetings but am not sure what to expect. Sober tonight plan on staying that way. I feel so good when I don't use, and I am lucky I havent lost my job or ruined relationships. But I know if I continue my use they will be gone. Thanks for reading this.

Wow thank you all for all the responses! tonight I have a fire burning, made chocolate chip cookies, and now watching my fav shows once upon a time in wonderland, and walking dead. Nights like these I have no problem, its when I am stressed that I use. But that is something all addicts have in common I guess. I drank when I was stressed too.... and bored... and happy ... and sad. Glad to see another sober friend posting on a Friday night. Welcome, thanks for checking in sharing your sober strategy.

Welcome! I agree with JaylaaKent! I drank for every mood, and I agree it's nice to read posts from sober people on a Friday night! It feels good to be sober tonight! It's my second alcohol free Friday.
