Hi all, just found this forum and thought is was really good place to be. 30-year functioning alcoholic here, but stopped drinking on July 7, 2012. Not a drink since. Pretty proud of myself...

Thanks. This website is a bit overwhelming at first...where do you start?

When I get lost around the forum, I click on the 'forum' circle button up top - takes you back to the main pages ;)

I was one of those that had an genetic inclination and otherwise routine-oriented nature about me. Started young and grew into it nicely. Early on I controlled it and eventually it controlled me. Because all my friends behaved similarly I thought is was normal. Took me years to figure out what I was and how I got there. Functioning alcoholics are great at drinking....they function...
