90 days
90 days
90 days! I’ve hit the 90 day mark today, and it feels amazing! What an emotional rollercoaster these last few months have been. But like others told me, it really does get easier. Staying clean of alcohol and my d.o.c have opened my life to new possibilities.
Things that have helped me get this far:
Admitting that I needed help and finally going to a treatment program
Leaning on friends / family when I’m having a bad day
Reading posts / posting on SR and the SR community
Treating my body well with a good diet
Exercise!
Music (especially Ben Howard's album “Every Kingdom” I highly recommend checking it out)
Keeping a list of “reasons to not use/drink” on my phone when I’m having a weak moment
Yoga / meditation
Recovery books (Taking the Leap by Pema Chodran is amazing)
For those of you, who are struggling, know that it can be done, it’s not too late to change your life for the better. Keep your head up, keep your heart strong.
