One Day at a Time

If you have one eye on yesterday, and one eye on tomorrow, you're going to be
cockeyed today.
If the out come of recovery is to live a humorless, stodgy, monastic existence,
few of us would bother.
By sharing experience, hope and strength we learn that our goal is to be happy,
joyous and free.We will experience greater and greater intuitive powers.Fears
that used to plague us will dissipate and we will walk in dignity among our
fellows.
We learn the blessed virtue of laughing at ourselves, which helps us put things
in their proper perspective.
As Jack put it in a self-helping meeting: I noticed the last time I was at a
funeral that all the headstones, simple or monumental, had one thing in common.
That was the date of the persons birth and the date of death. Those dates were
separated by a matter of only a few inches. And I thought,Gee!.Those couple of
inches represent some ones entire life.So it seems to me that if life is so
short,we'd better learn to enjoy the NOW. We'd better make our now as happy,
loving and productive as we can.
Through practicing these principles,I learn to laugh and to be joyful.
