11 weeks sober
11 weeks sober
I am 11 weeks sober today and I feel great about it. I am really starting to adjust to living without drinking alcohol. I am learning to cope with stress, manage my emotions, and take care of myself.
This journey has not been easy. I read on SR every day and also post most days to remind me of why I have made the commitment to a sober lifestyle: prevention of health problems, better mental health, deeper relationships, more financial control, more time to enjoy life, becoming the person I am meant to be, and self-respect.
I am so grateful to have all of your support on this journey because I do not have this type of understanding and encouragement in real life. In my daily life, my choice to remain abstinent is a daily battle that is merely tolerated by my friends and family.
I am looking forward to many more weeks of sobriety and even my first sober Christmas since I started drinking. I am glad to have you all on this journey with me.
Cheers,
Flying4Life

Good for you Flying4life! Know what you mean about no support at home. My husband and friends seem almost angry that I don't drink anymore. They tell me I'm no fun! Well 3 months and going strong and I'll never go back to that insanity. Maybe it's time for new friends (and husband!) ha ha
I just love this post flying4life . It made me feel happy . Xxx
Happy that you have your life back and have taken control even though others may try to hold you back , and happy for me , because posts like yours keep me inspired :-) xx
