Hi I'm first day sober. I never used to drink n then suffered pnd n started from there. I never thought I had a problem as I drank on a night but last night was the final nail in the coffin. I drank 3 bottles of wine n feel such a fool. I don't know why I did it but it upsets me so much as I have children. I will never drink again my kids are my world. Thank you for a site like this I need you guys to help me when I'm having a bad day n need a drink. I want to be here talking to you all about my journey with sobriety and my depression. Hopefully with no booze involved my depression will lift n I may even lose a bit of weight. Wish me luck and please feel free to give me tips for those bad day xxx

Welcome Zombiegirl. The depression was huge for me when I was drinking. Like please just let me not wake up huge. It lifts but it can take awhile. This is a great place to talk it out.

Hello, and welcome.
Many of us here have quit drinking through different methods.
Just remember how you feel today and realize you never have to feel this way again. Just don't take that first drink. Sounds simple, but it's been working for me for two years ten months and I was a bad drunk.

I'm sick of dissapointed myself. It's awful as my husband is saying I don't have a problem when I feel I do. He wants to still go out n have drinks I don't even want to half the time but feel pressured n belittled when I say so

Drinking on anti Ds just negates the effects of the meds. I found my depression was a lot better sober and my meds worked as they should.


I think you shouldn't be belittled for not drinking. Doesn't sound like much support there. Perhaps a heart to heart talk about how you feel. Might help.

Congratulations on your first day Zombiegirl. I'm glad you're aware of what alcohol is doing to your life - some stay in denial and never take action. Good to have you here with us.

First night is done. Off to bed now after having some more water. Going to be drinking peppermint n green tea tomorrow to really start clearing my system xxx

Yeah im on meds too for post traumatic stress disorder and drinkin over all this cant be good, my liver is on fire...
