New and scared.
Contact the people at the general service office (the information is below). Tell them your situation. They may have some ideas about what to do next. I am also going to send you a private message. I will help in any way I can.

Hi Lurox...I'm really glad you have found us! We've all been were you are right now, and know that it's really hard. But you can get through it! The crazy feelings start to fade away as time goes by, and you'll feel better and better. Just keep asking for help.
Hi longbeachone,
Oh Thank you so much. I am glad i found you guys too. Anyway, I actually had a dream this morning that i had a drink back in PNG. I was so scared, when i opened my eyes the first thing i said was, no... I failed. And my girlfriend said to me, are you alright?? and i said, what did i say?? And she said, you said you failed.. Oh yeah and i started telling her my dream. And she said to me, you'll be fine don't worry you've got be strong. Thank god it wasn't true i would've been so upset if i did.. Anyway Thanks again.

I spoke with AA World Services in New York. The two suggestions I got were for you to participate in on line meetings and to get as much literature as possible in order to help you to begin a group there. This has already been suggested in this discussion.
I have been trying to contact the world services in Australia but without success. I hope that they will have more information and resources.
If you are having a difficult time getting literature let me know and I will try to help you out. I have also sent you email. I am unable to send a private message to you through this site. You may wish to change your settings to allow this.
This site also has a chat room (see the blue bar above on this page). This site can be a great resource also.
Keep us informed.

Looking for AA in POM as well
Lurox, I am an expat in POM and had assumed that the Galley AA meeting was active before I arrived. After arriving, found that the Galley is now a bar (Aviat) and has been for 6 years and there are no other meetings to be found.
Surprising in a city this large, but I have searched.
Let me know if you are back in POM and need support.
And if anyone else out there knows of a Port Moresby meeting, sounds like there are 2 of us looking. Thanks
