Quiting pot - not so easy
Congrats on your clean time so far, Brazilian! Keep your goals and aspirations at the front of your mind and focus on them. The thoughts of smoking pot and drinking will slowly fade in to the background, I promise
Sadly, I was wrong. I am sick.
Made an X ray exam today, it showed sinusitis is still full power, even after 12 days of antibiotics. The doctor changed my antibiotics and told me to take prednisone (steroids - corticoids). Weird.
So I went to a specialist to get a third opinion, and he was very concerned about my story. He told me to maintain the same antibiotics and prescribed a series of exams, among them a CT. I am sad and a little scared about it.
Got home a few moments ago. The bottle of wine is still there. Sure I wanted to drink it all. I'm sad and fearful. But I refuse to drink, so I resorted to my main addiction: food. Ate a lot and will eat more. Yes I'm that ridiculous.
Tomorrow will make some exams and saturday the CT (if my health insurance will agree to cover it). Wish me luck.

Hi Brazilian,
Back from my trip. Glad to hear that you are still hanging in there. I am too. Don't let the doctors overdo the antibiotics, they are hard on the body as well. Sometimes necessary though.
Darkfaith, congrats on Day 2. With more days sober I think the benefits really start to become clearer.

Congratulations on day 2!!
One question: your brother really need to drink/ smoke in front of you? It's very tricky to stay sober that way...
It's a hard one, my brother does what he wants when he wants even though it's my house...*sigh* can't choose your family...I haven't told him I'm trying to stay sober, he would just laugh at me and not understand. Could possibly even try to pressure me more so. If I don't say anything he doesn't offer so at present it's easier to just leave the room.
Congrats on day 21 Brazilian
Congrats on day 21 Brazilian
Been trying to get him to move out Dee lol, he was staying here for two weeks while he looked for a place and that was around beginning of December. And now his gf has moved in too, while she looks for work. Just frustrating that I can't be strong enough to do something about it. I'm trying to help by encouraging his gf to fill out application forms and rental forms though so hopefully they will find a place soon and I will have my shed back :/

Just start over, dark. It's a hard situation that you are on.
Consider setting some limits on your brother's behavior inside your house.
Sometimes we got to help ourselves first.

DF, I think it's reasonable to say to your brother and his GF that they can do what they want when they are not living in your house but if they want to live in your house there is no pot allowed. They don't have to live with you, they can go live somewhere else if they want to get high. (I want to acknowledge up front that I don't know a lot about your situation or relationship with your brother, but in general, if it's your house I think you should be able to live in your own home without influences that you are trying to avoid.)
