Monkey off my back
Got a gorilla on my back
Tryna chase him away
Constantly on the attack
Atleast keep him at bay
What else can I say
I'm an addict for pain
Must of made a mistake
Thinkin it was keeping me sane
The diluted delusion
Caused by substances
Is all an illusion
That leads to consequences
Consumed by addict behavior
Chasing the high
Hating thy neighbor
Telling a million lies
As I journey into sobriety
Good to see what I'm leaving behind
I know I have the fight in me
And am No longer blind.
