Day 19 alcohol free

Hey everybody, my name is Brian and I'm an alcoholic. Just to give a quick update on me. When I came back to this site for the 7th or 8th time most recently I was beaten by alcohol. In the past I was always just beaten inside but this time I was beaten physically, mentally and spiritually. I was walking the streets drunk trying to panhandle money from the people I swore I'd never become. I'd been on a 6 day bender. Somehow by the grace of God I found my way back to my old home group of AA. I asked a man there to be my sponsor. That was almost 3 weeks ago. Today, I have a job, I go to meetings almost daily, and my sponsor is having me to his home for dinner Thursday. And I don't think about drinking all the time right now. To anyone reading this of the Christian faith that is having issues dealing with cravings and the mental obsession of alcohol, I just wanted to share- pray to remove the obsession it is working for me! Thank you I will pass!

Thank you. Well stuff is not great in my life I won't lie but it's getting better. Some days are hard but being sober makes it easier to face. Glad to have stopped digging my own grave.
