Back after a long break. My first try at sobriety was fantastic ... 6 months without one sip. The absolute best i have ever felt in my entire life. However, I got complacent and my addictive voice gladly accepted all the well meaning suggestions... You can have a glass or two, you really didn't drink that much, etc etc. Here I am again .. This weekend drank enough for a nasty hangover on Sunday. I want to give my wife and kids and myself a life without that distraction.

Complacency is definitely an enemy to living a sober life . I've learnt from your lesson, might be worth planning for when or if it happens next time ? write the 6 month or how ever much time sober you a letter from today ... saying "read this before drinking" .

lets set our eyes to the goal and get busy living sober ,

Looking back, I think I could have done a better job at avoiding certain social situations. I believe there were just too many triggers and not enough of a sober support setting.
