Younger Crowd

Is anyone going through recovery that is in their late twenties or early thirties? I relate to everyone very well, but nice to know when someone your age is going through the same struggles.

32. Daily drinking for 7 years... Can't take it past 32. Age is a number, when it's time to quit, it's time to quit

I am 33. You will find a lot of people here of all ages, all stages, and all are pursuing or recovering from something.

I'm 27. I find that i can relate to people of all ages on here. We all have a common goal which is to stay sober.

I think most of us who are in our 40s and 50s wish we had tried sobriety when we were a lot younger. I know I do. I think I knew I had a real issue with alcohol when I was as young as 18 or 19. My hopes are that my children (three of them are teenagers) don't ever bother putting the poison of alcohol into their bodies. There are too many wonderful things to do in life and boozing just really isn't "all that." My husband and I were just talking about our college days and thinking of all the fun things we could have done instead of the every weekend boozefest. If you can stop now, it will be easier for you to stop now than later. Your bodies will bounce back faster and you'll have less episodes of regret. Quit now and never look back!! You should very proud and mature for figuring this all out at a young age!

I didn't start the daily drinking until 25, before that heavy weekend drinking. I remember thinking it was so great that I found a cure to the anxiety of a hangover... Just drink again! Had I known what kind of problem I was setting for my future.

Late twenties here. Attempted a few times to get sober since I was about 23. Never drank every day but did more recently before I stopped. Was a big binge drinker before then.
