Hello!
I am new member, and have 23 days of sobriety under my belt. After 20ish years or so of abusing alcohol, for the first time in my adult life I am sober for more than a couple of days. Being 43 years old, I'm not sure I even know how to be an adult without alcohol as a crutch? But I guess I will be finding out. A personal crisis has brought me to this place of beginning my recovery, and I think I have to be grateful for it, because I wasn't getting here on my own.
So I just wanted to let everyone know I will be lurking around here, and reading as much as I can, in between going to AA meetings and trying to repair the unhealthy mess of a body I've been living in. I am grateful for all the support and great information on this site....thank you!!

Welcome hazeleyes so happy to have you on board . Lots and lots of reading here in the beginning is such a good distraction.
You are certainly not alone , we are all here for the same reason , to get and to stay well

Hi Hazeleyes, welcome to SR, and well done on the 23 days. You have got past some of the worst days, and you can count on support from SR for continuing on. There are plenty of rewards waiting for you further down the track.
