Picked up my 1 month chip tonight
i am amazed and grateful that, one day at a time, I have been sober for a month. i am grateful that i am in a position where i don't have to work and can hit as many meetings as i want or need to. i am grateful for the support of my husband, my friends and my family as we make the adjustment to the truth of my alcoholism and the progress of my recovery.
i am lucky that AA is working for me, and that i am coming to understand the existence of a higher power. it's not 'God' for me - more a universal spirit.
i am grateful for SR and the stories of hope and recovery i read here. i feel the pain of all of our struggles and hope that, little by little, we can find a better way. we're not alone, and that's the most powerful thing of all.
most of all, i am finding peace and a hope for a future.
keep on keeping on. the best is yet to come.
