Accident

A few days back I was in a car crash.
No one was harmed luckily.
I was sober.
Working night-shifts.
It was my mistake.
Driving too fast.
Anything else about the situation or the other car and driver are just excuses.

Being sober does not make me perfect.
It does not make me invincible.
Sobriety does not give me my youth back and it does not erase stupid mistakes made back in time.

It makes me more human.
Ergo.
Imperfect, bound to make stupid mistakes and slowly decay over time till I die.
Still.
Anything is better then to have died in a car crash a few days ago.

Sorry about the crash, but it's much MUCH easier to deal with it without a DUI on top of it all. Accidents happen. Speeding isn't nearly as bad as driving drunk.

Most everyone drives over the speed limit at one time or another. No reason to beat yourself up over it. Just learn from it and try not to do it again.

I am glad that no one was hurt and that you were sober so you won't have the additional hassles. If it makes you feel better, I was an isolator and a closet drinker (meaning that I drank completely alone at home with my phones turned off).
Therefore I have a very small list of stupid things I did while drunk and a giant list of stupid things I've done sober.
Like a good friend of mine always says: It is not that we get wiser as we get older. We just run out of stupid things to do.
