When I got sober I slept badly for a few weeks. Then when I did sleep it was real, deep, refreshing, rejuvenating sleep. Every morning when I woke up it took a few seconds to realize I was actually sober and I loved it

I was always especially pleased waking up on Saturday mornings sober as traditionally it was the day of the worst hangover after a blast on Friday night after the working week. every day I wake I'm thankful to be sober but especially more so on Saturdays.

It's a great feeling isn't it RAL?

I am so used to waking on a Saturday and looking ahead to my day now, I almost forgot what it used to be like. Those awful stomach churning anxious mornings when the first thing I did was check my phone for messages I sent in blackout....ugh.

RAL, I am enjoying a rare Saturday morning lie in, as I usually work, but no longer with a furry tongue, swivelling stomach and sweats, clock watching for the 3.5 hours to grind to an end. Thanks for your post, a great reminder of how much better my Saturdays are too!
