Nearly two years and still failing :(
Hi everyone,
I've just been on a five day bender and I am just not sure what I am going to do. I've been in AA nearly two years and I've had a few months here and there and I keep trying the Steps but I always end up drinking.
I am 25 years old and feel like my body can't handle another relapse. I want it all to stop

It's good that you are trying, how often do you go to meetings? Do you have a sponsor?
Perhaps an outpatient rehab program might help? Just throwing some ideas out there.
Picking up a drink is a conscious decision only you can make, no one or no situation can "make" you drink - but sometimes we need extra help getting started. I wish you the best of luck.

I've had a couple of relapses myself - my last one was just one day though - compared to prior which was 3 weeks! I have to look at my big picture - not a number or I will get discouraged too. I can say I've had MORE sober days than not in the past 6 months than in the past 3 years. Maybe you really have not done step one - truly conceded to the fact that you are powerless over alcohol/drug?

They say that insanity is trying the same thing over and over expecting different results. Maybe an alternative to AA might be more effective (AVRT, SMART, RR, LifeRing...) for you?
You are not failing if you are still trying.
When you drank did you try and call people in AA before you did it? Did you reach out to your sponsor?
I know many do not because they want to drink and they know these people are going to try everything they can to keep that from happening but in the end it is still up to you.
One of the things I tell myself is that I may have another drink/drunk in me but I may not have another recovery in me. It is hard and it is work but once you can get to a certain point you want it more then the drink.
It will happen, hang in there and try again
