Sounds like you got the wake up call you needed and better still you realize it. I have drank and drove my car and I was lucky not to be caught or worse,
be responsible for someone's death or injury but for the grace of God.
Having made the decision it's good that you are going to a meeting, looking for support. I have been sobe 2.5 years with the support of SR and the 12 step program.
All the best I think you can do this, I really do.
