Thumbs up Dreamt I drank again

Gosh, I just dreamt I was with my friend and was out and I drank a few glasses of wine..then I was going to go home and pretend it didn't happen, what's that all about.
In reality, I haven't been out with my friend and drank, thank goodness!

I used to feel like a got a freebie when I would have a drinking dream.

Now, they are a nightmare.

I just saw your comments on the other post Dee, thanks. I've always dreamed a lot very vivid but not that I was drinking. Though my head is a lot clearer nowadays I'm pleased to say. I just want to keep on this road of recovery.

It can be quite emotional when that happens- it happens less over time

Ohhh the drinking dreams! They seem so real! It is normal and we all have them. I had one where my best friend was chasing me down the street because I had a bottle of captain in my hand. The best part about them is you wake up upset and guilty only to realize.... it's just a dream

I love this. I half-woke this morning with that stomach dread of a hangover, wondering what I'd done and who I had to apologise to, before waking fully and realising I'd been asleep. I'm more than happy to dream of drinking if that's the only place I do it!

yes, I have had more than a few of those dreams in these 6 sober years

most all of these drinking dreams are very stressful for me

so disappointed in myself (that not again thought)

until I wake up and realize that I really didn't do that

what a relief each time waking knowing that it was only a dream

to tell the truth it would be a real nightmare if I did drink

I have also had those dreams, they are truly awful!! I am so happy when I wake up, but that horrible sinking feeling always seems to stick around for awhile...

Yes it freaked me out the first few times I had them. Even now, I will have one and wake up in a panic for a few seconds.

I had them to early, lasted about 2 years and slowly faded away.
May get one or 2 every now and then and learnt to joke about it, depends what "crime scene" was on show.
Basically, it's deep sub-conscious stuff where drugs and alcohol once suppressed our emotions, so they surface then evaporate.
If I get one now, I think of it as a "freebie" at the movies.
It's just a dream.
