A Word to the Wise
 

Those of you who have made the decision to give up drinking are, indeed, wise. Welcome to my world and may I say that you've just made (or are making) the best decision of your life. At the beginning it won't be easy to stay on the sober trail but you can do it and just remember to keep wanting it. Want it with everything you have and you WILL succeed.

Remember alcohol is just a poisonous liquid. If someone handed you a bottle that said poison on it would you drink it? That's what every bottle of alcohol is to an alcoholic.

It isn't worth ruining your life over a liquid.

You will sleep so much better.

You will look so much better.

You will have so much more energy.

You will always make sense!

You will not slur your words.

You will not stagger.

You will have good health.

You will deal with problems positively.

You will see and understand clearly.

You will, at last, be yourself and you will proud; you will be loved; you will be happy.

And on top of all that you will be sober!

What's not to like?

Kaneda, thank you so much. I was given that quote about 20 years ago by a friend who didn't know who it was by. I love it but never knew who wrote it. If I was strictly correct I should write:

Wanderer, there are no paths......

But I like "Traveller" so I hope he won't mind if I stick with it! So Antonio Machado will get his name put up now.
