I'm in too.Missed a few of the weekend threads but back today.Had some health and financial issues which I'm now sorting out. It's amazing how we ignore these things whilst drinking.

Happy sober Saturday to those who are already there and for the rest of us where saturday is still to come

Looking forward to getting out and experiencing something rather than drinking and watching football on the couch.

Hi mechanix, great post. I agree with the two pronged attack. The benefits sobriety brings and the destruction drinking brings. Every success story and every sad story. They are all reasons for sobriety in my book. Knowledge is power where alcohol is concerned. Yes!

I'm in! Sunday is my birthday. I'll be 41 years young and 70 days sober. Woo hoo. First birthday I'll celebrate without copious amounts of wine. Feeling grateful that alcohol is out of my life.

Friday night around 9:30 in the North and I've been poking around on SR talking myself in to believing that coming home tonight to my own place rather than staying at my bf's was really what I needed to do. Soooooo much stress and drama as well as his complete denial about his daughter who is living with him and in and out of not using heroin. The addict behaviors and the games she is playing with her father is triggering me big time. I'm sad but I know this is what I need to do at this particular moment to protect my sobriety. Feels good just knowing there are so many other sober weekend warriors out there just like me doing what they need to do too to stay sober

I completed all of my assignments and spent some quality time with my Dad. I can't believe I spent so many Friday nights deluding myself with the idea that alcohol equals a good time! Nothing could be further from the truth. I was poisoning my mind and body and completely depriving myself of the opportunity to feel good about my accomplishments, connect with others, and truly relax by taking care of myself in ways that aren't detrimental to my well-being. Glad to see everyone here, we are changing our lives one day at a time!

As for me I will be heading to bed with a mug of hot milk tonight to enjoy a pleasant and sober sleep.

I'm in, too! It'll be my second weekend. Tonight wasn't bad. Tomorrow will be a little tougher, but I am up to the challenge as long as I can check in with SR when I need it.

Bought a mobile home and in the process of moving to a new town. No time to even THINK about drinking. Life is extremely hectic right now. Happy weekend everyone!
