If I was going to cave today would be the Day , Day 18

( 18 days ) I just got through a rough week , hit the lottery , caught up on bills and have tomorrow off. It's the middle of the week and I got money in my pocket.

Freekin craving.......It'll pass.....

I'll just go home and put on a good Western movie

Whew!

you can do this Riky - think past the immediate and think more long term - you deserve to take care of yourself

Hey you have created so much positivity it would be a shame to 'celebrate' by doing something harmful!

I hope you find a good film to watch

Good call on the film. Enjoy being caught up and having a lovely morning to sleep in tomorrow and wake up sober and refreshed. Enjoy the movie!

Alcohol is not a reward, I used to think it was and would reward myself constantly for even such mundane things as cleaning the house.

Riky ha g in there and enjoy the movie

Don't waste your winnings on liquid poison!!! Get yourself something cool or give some of it away to a cause that means something to you. You will feel so much better than if you use it to go back to drunken ways.

Day 19

I got through day 18 ok , went home and watched a good western movie. It's the same old bs my AV throws out there. " let's get some your doing so well and no one know will know "
I'll know ...Today is day 19 , my best in years. I won't use no matter what. Oh no , I remember how that feels

Sounds like like you had some good fortune.
And even better, good intentions not to step off the road of sobriety.
You're doing great,Ricky.

You tell that damn AV, "Make my day" in your scariest Dirty Harry voice and shoot the ba$tard down. No more riding off into the sunset with your soul...

You're doing great, Ricky. Keep going...

Just remember your own words yesterday about how you felt reaching 18 days clean:

"It beats the shame & regret I felt after using by far."

I read an interesting article today, it was about fast food cravings but I think it makes sense for any including alcohol.

If you think about the negative things that will happen when you give into the cravings your more likely to give in even though you know its bad. If you think about the positive things that will happen if you don't you're less likely too because of the positive attitude gives us a sense of reward where as the negative will just increase the frustration.

You can do it riky!
