This is it going to rehab.
Ive committed to doing it. Im on leave from work. Applied for short term disability which the agency that operates it says should be covered (anyone hear of someone being denied for this?). Gave the appropriate paperwork. Once im approved for std im going into rehab.
Glad to hear you are taking control! Kudos to you!
My work doesn't offer short term disability, so I had to take off using FMLA, which is unpaid after I used up what PTO I had accumulated. But, at the time, I just did not care. I didn't care if I lost my job. I knew I HAD to do something about my drinking and I knew I wasn't powerful enough to do it on my own.

I hope it does, too, but in the off chance that it doesn't, I hope you will still go. Nothing is more important.

I've never heard of an STD insurance carrier denying a claim for alcohol dependence (the medical code that's usually used to file the claim for rehab). Just make sure you have all your medical documentation in order.

Drunkandalone, I did the same thing in order to quit. I checked myself into treatment, and I had co-workers saying how expensive it would be. I replied that I could be dead instead. I took treatment as a matter of life and death. I have been clean and sober for almost 14 months now.
Now that you are committed to taking care of yourself, can I suggest you change your name to SoberandHappy ? Just a thought for a new life!

Group Health. Even thou I had been to detox twice and three months of outpatient therapy and I still couldn't quit. Wife left me and I was on a big bender and they still wouldn't pay for it.

I looked at your other posts, and you have been trying for some time to stay sober, with long periods of sobriety and still relapsing. Treatment will do alot for you, and although the money part is a concern, your employer is still supportive! You will be able to manage it, you still have a job waiting for you when you get out, it will all be ok. As long as you keep trying, be honest, and are willing to follow the suggestions everything will turn out ok!

Hang in there, it will all work out. When I decided to get help and made decisions that were good for me, things worked out in my favor. Seems like when I made bad decisions, bad things came from it. Just keep making good decisions, ask for help from God,HP, and trust that everything will be ok. It will.
