Smile THE weekend thread you weekenders 11, 12 & 13th oct 2013

Yer hi guys ,

Good Afternoon Australia , morning europe , welome to the early hours Americas .

It's the weekend, let's share what gets us through. Let's ring the freedom bell out for people and let them know weekends clean and sober can be fun , free , happy and joyous , even if we're not actually doing very much .

If you need full SR support or a welcome it might a good idea to start your own thread as postings crying for help , or shout outs of welcome to say hello hidden in other threads can get missed .

I'm on my sober bike , it is not a race . Lets ride the sober highway without driving into the potholes or off the side and into the ditch . Children don't throw the bike away, loose heart and stay flat on their backs if they fall, neither should we .

Lets do this ,

Bestwishes, m

I am going to a sober dance party with a fellow AA member Saturday night and then going to a housewarming where drugs/alcohol will be, but I fully plan on attending a meeting beforehand, showing my face, and getting the f*** out of there!

I will also be watching some sober (American) football! GO DAWGS, HTTR!!

I am staying home Friday, going to do a Cancer walk on Saturday morning. Not sure about the rest of it. I need to make some kind of plan though

Will be at home tonight sober and watching our beloved national football team play as we progress smoothly to the World Cup finals ! Normally watch football with a few bottles of red and prob miss most of second half! Looking forward to seeing through to whistle! Have a good sober weekend everyone and don't come back on Monday with any regrets. All the best.

Im going to be on my second weekend. Last weekend I had a dinner party at home where there was alcohol being served and I stayed strong and didnt give in. As for my plans for the weekend - I am attending as many meeting as I can - i have found that I really find the inner strength that I didnt know I had by attending and it keeps my mind occupied. I am aiming for 4 meeting this weekend. Good luck to everyone...

Thumbs up

I have done 2 nights in a row (and in Australia too so I've got the 12th and 13th to go!)
I'm in, I want a sober weekend. I am soooo tired at the moment, I love sleeping 'normally' although its very scattered?! Daytime naps are helping!

I'm flying on sugarbear's tail, but only about weekend 27 or so, I think i can do it too.

I'm looking forward to a food show in the big city, dinner out and a day at home. Hope you all have a good one.

Fourth weekend for me. Catering a dinner for 70 tomorrow; that's a trigger as I usually de stress and reward myself with lots of wine afterwards. Felling more optimistic that I can get through it this time. I guess I'm learning.

Stay strong weekenders!

I am looking forward to enjoying this weekend sober. It is Thanksgiving weekend here in Canada so I have 4 days off. I am going to finish a bit of homework, relax at home, watch movies, make some kind of fancy appetizer for my family's celebration and hopefully attend my first AA meeting in a loooong time. This will be my first sober holiday this year and I plan to really focus on the company of my family and the many rich blessings that I have to be grateful for. Stay strong everyone, and have a healthy and happy weekend!

I'm joining you all this weekend too. Looking forward to it and going to spend some time reflecting, with family, and attending meetings in search of a sponsor. Happy weekend.
